I don't find thst you are wrong on, you seem to know most copyright law, especially british copyright.

I know little about copyright law. I could name 10 DuMont series with no surviving episodes from my memory, but can't understand or remember anything to do with copyright.

That's more than 10, but you get the idea. (anyone want me to do actual research and compile a list of such shows?)
